My Story

Located 20 minutes drive north west from Toowoomba and just under 120 minutes from Brisbane.
​
Sugarloaf Mountain Retreat is set on 270 acres of grazing land, a working cattle farm with a backdrop of Sugarloaf itself. This retreat location is the perfect place in which to relax, unwind, and work on your writing project or just to escape. The property boasts over 1,000 trees have recently been provided by Landcare under ‘Bring back the koala project, and were planted in the last couple years and now cared for by your hosts.

As it is a working cattle property, guests will be asked not to enter any farm sheds, and not climb Sugarloaf itself. Farm rules prevail. These will be explained to guests on arrival, but basically, they entail no entry to sheds, no hill climbing - as the terrain is not safe, and not entering any other paddocks other than the home paddock surrounding the retreat.
We want you to be able to enjoy the farm, the views and your accommodation, but your personal safety is important to us.
There is a caretaker on the property who will look after any concerns you may have, and Jeanette or her husband are always available by phone.
Get A Feel For The Space...
The accommodation itself entails two rooms. One is a large room with wood heating for winter and air conditioning for year round comfort, and includes a king size bed, kitchenette, tv and dining area for 2. Access is also provided to laundry facilities complete with washing machine, dryer and iron and board.

The other space includes a room with an allocated work space with a view, with beautiful sliding door to the bathroom where you will find a victorian claw bath tub, vanity and toilet.
